The story follows Kiara, who is rejected by Alpha Zane—her destined mate and Luna—and cast out of his pack. Already carrying his child, Kiara is left devastated and confused by his sudden betrayal. Zane accuses her of infidelity and refuses to listen, shutting down any chance of reconciliation despite her desperate pleas.
Banished and alone, Kiara is forced to start over with only her best friend, Heather, by her side.
Two years later, they are living among humans. Kiara struggles to move on, still haunted by the past. On her son’s birthday, she visits his grave—heartbroken over the child she lost shortly after birth. The grief lingers, leaving her feeling incomplete, wishing he were still alive.
One day, Kiara saves a man from taking his own life. In gratitude, he offers her anything she wants. She refuses and tries to leave, but he insists on at least knowing her name and giving her a ride. Though wary, Kiara reluctantly agrees.
Meanwhile, Zane is having a rough day. He tries to leave for home but is stopped by his Beta and Gamma, who inform him of an urgent meeting. He refuses—until Samantha, a woman from his past, intervenes and blocks his way.
