Chapter 1

Kendall Parker's daughter was dead.

She was killed by her husband, Jackson Whittle, and her so-called sister, Kelly Parker.

The baby was only seven months old; she had just learned to sit alone. The baby was fair and chubby like a doll. She was cute and had two small dimples when she smiled. However, they had accidentally killed this adorable child.

"Kendall, Jackson belongs to me. My son is of his flesh and blood. Your daughter is merely a b*stard."

"I'm sure you didn't expect this, am I right? Jackson has never laid his hands on you. The man that night wasn't Jackson. As for who is the biological father of your daughter, only God knows! She is a b*stard who doesn't know who her father is!"

"Kendall, do you know how your parents died?"

"I killed them. It was their fault for leaving all the properties of the Parker Family to you. They said that I was their daughter and that they would treat me equally. Yet, in the face of interests, they only thought of you, the daughter with their blood flowing in her."

"Kendall Parker, go to hell with that love child of yours!"

Kelly's words echoed in her ears.

The cry of her daughter being thrown to the ground was stabbing her heart. She heard her daughter's cries getting weaker and weaker, which led her to panic and beg them to send her baby to the hospital. Be it the Parker Corporation or Jackson; she didn't care one whit as long as her daughter lived.

Kendall was the biological daughter of the Parkers who had been exchanged by accident. When they finally reconnected with her four years ago, she became the second daughter of the Parker Family. Suddenly, a pair of big feet in black leather shoes appeared in her increasingly blurred vision. The man bent down to carry her daughter's body and shoved it into her arms.

"Baby."

Kendall hugged her daughter ecstatically as the blood from the corner of her mouth smeared all over her daughter.

Her injuries were so severe that she was beginning to lose consciousness. Before the darkness engulfed her, she raised her head in difficulty to look at her savior, only to see a man in black sitting in a wheelchair.

Even sitting in a wheelchair did not affect his nobility in the slightest.

She recognized him. After her baby had been thrown to the ground and seriously injured by Jackson and Kelly, she ran out with the baby in her arms, stopped a car, and told the driver to take her to the hospital.

The man in the wheelchair was sitting in the car. However, he allowed her in and instructed the driver to send them all the way to the hospital.

Although he was disabled, he was still a god in Orapolis' business industry.

Dylan looked at her without a trace of warmth in his eyes. As he wheeled away, he coldly instructed the bodyguard behind him. "She's awake now. Send her back and tell Adam Parker that although I am disabled, I will not force his daughter to marry me. Tell him to take good care of his daughter and don't let her feign suicide in front of me. It's disgusting."

Suicide?

This was a familiar scene.

Of course! Back then, when the Coleman Family came to propose marriage, they specifically asked for Kendall, the true daughter of the Parker family.

Kendall finally sensed that something was wrong.

She realized that she only felt pain in her left wrist.

When she looked around, she realized she wasn't in a hospital.

The two bodyguards walked to the bed and spoke to her indifferently, "Ms. Parker, please get up and come with us."

Kendall was speechless.

What on earth was going on?

Did she go back to the past after her death?

"Can you pass me a mirror?"

Although Kendall was ecstatic, she still wanted to make sure.

Dylan, who was wheeling himself to the door, stooped. He turned his head and looked at her ironically.

The bodyguards waited for him to speak.

After pursuing his lips, Dylan coldly said, "Give her a phone."

A phone had a front camera, equivalent to looking into a mirror.

Immediately, one of the bodyguards took out his phone, turned on the camera, and passed it to Kendall.

She grabbed the phone and saw through her picture on the screen that there was no longer the look of despair and dreariness on her face. Although she was a little pale, it might be from losing too much blood due to her suicide attempt. Whatever the case was, she looked a lot better than how she was before her death.

This was clearly the way she looked when she was 26 years old.

She had been reborn!

She was brought back in time to three years ago.

Kendall began to fidget with her hands; this was the little habit she did when she was nervous.

"Master Dylan."

"Get her out of here!"

Dylan had already lost his patience before hearing her out and ordered his men to bring her out.

"Master Dylan, I'll marry you! I want to marry you!"

The thing she wanted to do in her past life before her death turned into a string of words and gushed out of her mouth.

Dylan had shown her kindness when she was at her lowest, when she was most in need of help, and because of that, she will marry him!

Even if he had a bad temper, lacked patience, was crippled, and was indifferent by nature, she was willing to marry him and live with him for the rest of her life.

Everyone in the room was stunned by Kendall's sudden remark.

However, he sneered at her. "Ms. Parker, are you sure you sliced your wrists instead of knocking yourself too hard on the head to try and commit suicide?"

Immediately, her face turned red when she heard what he said.

"Master Dylan, I-I'm being serious. I've thought it through. I'm willing to marry you and care for you all my life."

Whatever the case was, her life depended on him right now.

"Ah!"

Dylan scoffed. "Do you not mind my crippled legs? Aren't you afraid I will drag you down for the rest of your life? Aren't you afraid of how inhumane I am because of my injuries? Didn't you say my family depended on their power to force marriages?"

"I don't care about any of that!" Kendall retaliated.

In her previous life, Jackson used the excuse of her being pregnant after their marriage to stop treating her like his wife.

It wasn't until Kelly showed up in front of her with a baby boy almost as old as her daughter that she

knew that Jackson didn't care about her, nor did he want to lay his hands on her.

As for the first time in the hotel, it was because she was drunk and Jackson was the first person she saw, so she immediately assumed he had done the deed. He also said that he would marry her early…

However, it turned out that it wasn't him that took away her innocence that night.

On the day of her death, she didn't even know her daughter's father.

This made him gasp in pain.

Was this woman a dog?

Did she actually bit him?!

Dylan, who returned to his senses, shoved her with both hands before finally pushing away the woman who had crawled into his arms and bit him.

Kendall, who was shoved, fell to the ground.

The bodyguards, who had also returned to their senses by then, did not dare to move. Instead, they stared at her with an indescribable expression.

No one had ever dared to do this to their young master before.

Who gave this woman her courage?

"Dylan, I've marked you. You are now my responsibility."

She nodded. "I do."

When he saw this, he sneered. "No regrets?"

"No regrets!"

"Did you bring your ID with you?"

"My ID is in my wallet, and my wallet is in the car."

"Kendall, I'm giving you one last chance to change your mind. I won't pursue your suicidal attempt and your refusal to marry me if you leave now. I'll just pretend that nothing happened." After all, he was a disabled man with a bad temper. It was also rumored that he was inhumane after what happened to him.

If she didn't want to marry him, he would have understood.

However, Kendall firmly answered, " Dylan, I won't regret it. I will marry you!"

Dylan had his bodyguard pushing him as he silently looked at the woman walking in front. She had just become his legal wife.

That woman giggled as she walked like a cat had caught a canary.

"Kendall," he called out in a low voice.

When Kendall heard him calling her, she turned around, smiled sweetly at him, and asked, "What's the matter, hubby?"

As soon as he heard this, he frowned. He didn't like her calling him 'hubby.'

"Don't call me hubby."

"Dylan."

Kendall was sensible and immediately changed her tone.

"Come here."

She let out a hum and turned around to stand in front of him as if waiting for his following command.

"Turn around and squat down."

Although Kendall didn't understand why Dylan would have such a request, she still squatted down in front of him and turned her back to him according to his request.

"Dylan, are you asking me to carry you? Hop on! I'm quite strong. I should be able to—"

Before she could even finish what she was saying, she felt a sharp pain in the back of her neck, and her eyes immediately black as the darkness engulfed her.

Dylan looked at his newlywed wife, who had fallen to the ground indifferently, and commanded in a low voice, "Send her back to the Parkers. Let her recuperate before taking responsibility for what she had done."

Then, he pushed past Kendall in his wheelchair.

As he passed her, he bent down, picked up the marriage certificate she had dropped on the ground, and stuffed it into his pockets.

The bodyguards were completely confused by Dylan's actions and his arrangements, but none of them dared to question him. Finally, one of the bodyguards silently carried the unconscious Kendall into the car and sent her home.

When Kendall was awake again, she felt a pain in the back of her neck alongside an empty stomach.

"Kendall, Kendall."

She heard a familiar, warm, but anxious-sounding voice.

Immediately, Kendall returned to her senses and turned her head instinctively to see her mother's beautiful face.

"Kendall, how are you feeling? Do you feel dizzy? Are you hungry? Does your wrist hurt? You scared me to death! I've just gotten you back, and I haven't even gotten the chance to really get to know you. If something happened to you, what should I do then?"

Charlotte grabbed Kendall's hand tightly, and Charlotte's eyes reddened as she spoke.

The bodyguards of the Coleman Family sent her unconscious daughter back and told her that Kendall had gone to slit her wrist in front of Dylan so that she would not marry him.

When Charlotte heard this, she was scared out of her wits. However, she quickly helped her daughter and probed the tip of her nose. When Charlotte realized that Kendall was still breathing, she let out a sigh of relief.

Fortunately, the bodyguards of the Coleman Family did not say much. Instead, they told Charlotte that Kendall should recuperate from her injuries before taking responsibility and leaving.

"Mom? Am I still alive?" Kendall asked.

As Charlotte wiped away her tears, she patted her daughter on the shoulder, held up her injured hand distressedly, and said, "Silly girl, if you don't want to marry someone, you can just tell us. Why did you have to go and offend the Colemans? I will even help convince your dad to call the marriage off. Why do you have to do something like this… Thank God you were saved."

Kendall blinked as hard as she could.

She felt a sharp pain when she touched the back of her neck.

Dylan had stunned her!

He must be the first person that stunned their newlywed wife.

"Mom," Kendall called out in a hoarse voice.

Putting aside her marriage with Dylan, Kendall finally had the time to feel excited about her rebirth.

She sat up and hugged Charlotte abruptly before exclaiming, "Mom, I've missed you so much."

In Kendall's previous life, she had only stayed with the Parkers for three years after reuniting. More than a year after her marriage, her parents died in a car accident. She had only managed to spend no more than four years with her biological parents in her past life.

Although the time was short, her parents' love for her was real.

Now that she had a second chance in life, she would be a fool if she did anything stupid again.

This time, she just wanted to live a free and easy life. She wanted to live a better life than before, safeguard the Parker Corporation, and repay her birth and adoptive parents' kindness.

"Mom, is Kendall awake? I've boiled some porridge and fried a few small dishes on the table. If Kendall's awake, let her have something to eat."

Charlotte caressed her daughter's pale face.

Later, the Colemans stopped insisting on marriage, and she also managed to force her parents into agreeing to her marriage with Jackson after her suicide attempt and hunger strike.

"Come in, Kelly," Charlotte called out.

Soon, Kelly pushed open the door and came in. She looked completely different from Kendall. Kendall was a mixture of her parents' good features; she was beautiful. Although she had grown up in a poor environment, it couldn't hide her natural beauty.

She also had an elegant temperament by nature. Her adoptive parents were very kind to her. Since a young age, she had been interested in piano, chess, poetry, and painting. "Kendall, I've prepared some porridge for you with some of your favorite side dishes. Eat them while it's hot."

Kelly had a sweet smile on her face. She grew up in the Parker Family, and the education she received was completely different from Kendall's. Kelly had both the extravagance of a wealthy family and the ability to work. This gave her a gentle front, but she was also calculative and manipulative.

She had written the script of Kendall's past life.

Kendall glanced at the food Kelly brought up and put her arms around her mother's arm, whining, "Mom, I want to eat the food you make, not the porridge she cooked."

Although Kelly's eyes flickered, she maintained her smile as if she didn't care that her sister disliked her porridge.

"I just want to eat something you've made, mom. I love your cooking."

Since her daughter wanted to eat her food, she immediately went downstairs to cook.

On the other hand, Kendall did not want to interact with Kelly for much longer, afraid she might lose control of her hatred and strangle Kelly to death on the spot.

"Kendall," Kelly called out when she noticed that Kendall was heading downstairs.

However, she did not stop at her feet or turn back. Instead, she just lightly answered, "I'm hungry. I'm going down for some snacks."

Kelly kept quiet and watched her walk out of the room and down the stairs.

When she turned back, she saw the bowl of white porridge with a few side dishes that she had brought up. She seemed deep in thought as her eyes darkened and her lips tightened.

In the past, Kendall loved porridge because of how she used to live.

Now, she didn't even want to eat porridge…

Kelly felt that Kendall was acting differently. Not only did she not want to eat porridge, but she was also acting like a spoiled child in front of her mother!

After waiting for a moment, Kelly took the tray of food down.

At the end of the stairs, she heard Kendall talking to her mother. Kendall's sweet voice, with a hint of kittenish, made her mother laugh constantly.

When she entered the kitchen with the tray, she saw Kendall feeding Charlotte some biscuits.

Charlotte never liked sweet things. However, now that Kendall was feeding her, Charlotte was happily eating them as if it was the best food in the world.

"Kendall, mom doesn't like desserts."

Then, Kelly couldn't help but add, "It's been more than a year since you've come back. So, how can you not know what she likes?"

Kendall immediately looked bewildered, blinking at her mother and asking pitifully, "Mom, do you really not like desserts?"

She remembered from her previous life that she overheard her mother talking about how her mother didn't eat desserts not because she didn't like them but because it was fattening. Her mother wanted to maintain a good figure; hence she seldom ate desserts.

But as a matter of fact, her mother would be delighted whenever she ate desserts.

When Charlotte saw Kendall's pitiful appearance, she immediately explained to Kelly, "Kelly, I actually love desserts. In the past, I didn't eat them to keep fit. But now that I'm old, it doesn't matter if I gain some weight."

Kelly hurried over to reach out, snatched the scissors from Kendall's hand, and stared at the pots of flowers that Kendall had ruined.

The more Kelly looked at it, the more annoyed and angry she became.

"What's the matter?"

Charlotte rushed out of the kitchen when she heard Kelly's cries and asked with concern.

both girls walking toward the door. "Where are the girls going?" she asked her husband.

"They're going to apologize to Master Dylan."

"Apologize?"

With a sullen face, Adam explained, "In order to turn down the marriage, Kendall actually went to Master Dylan and slit her wrist in front of him. Who do you think Master Dylan is? Without even looking at her, Dylan moved his lips and said indifferently, "Miss Kelly, this has nothing to do with you. When I'm not speaking with you, just keep your mouth shut!"

Instantly, all blood drained from her face as she bit her bottom lip and kept her palms in tight fists, not daring to speak anymore.

While working in the senior management of Parker Corporation, she knew better than Kendall about Dylan's personality and how he handled matters. This man was definitely not a kind person.

His demeanor gave her a huge sense of oppression, and she recalled that after she returned to the past, she had torn his shirt into pieces, bit him, and even threatened him to take responsibility.

I was so brave, she thought ironically. "Dylan, I was sniggering earlier because I remembered a joke," she lied.

When he cast her an icy look, she instantly felt guilty for lying, and she kept feeling that his eyes could see through her lie.

However, she could only continue with her lie. "It's true. I was really thinking about a joke."

"Does Kelly bully you all of the time?"

So, when she discovered that she wasn't Charlotte and Adam's biological daughter, she became even more remarkable by being more considerate of their parents and getting along well with Kendall, even bringing her along to attend various parties with her. Of course, she would blend in well at the parties, while Kendall stood out like a thumb.

"Kelly is the heir your parents had nurtured by themselves, and your return is the biggest threat to her."

reached into her pocket as she wanted to take out her marriage certificate, but she couldn't find it anywhere in her pockets.

Where's my marriage certificate? Did I lose it? Oh, no!

"Dylan, I lost my marriage certificate!" she cried anxiously. "I remember clearly that I have it with me, and I didn't change my clothes after waking up. So, how did I lose it? Can I request another one?"

Alas, he merely mocked her indifferently, "You can even lose something like the marriage certificate. Why didn't you get lost as well?"

"I don't want to lose it, either," she murmured. "Dylan, can I request another one? How about I make a copy from yours?" Without the certificate in her hands, she just didn't feel at ease.

Again, he knocked her head several times with the fork, and she glared at him angrily and aggrievedly as she tolerated the pain.

"Are you happy that another woman tried to get into your husband's bed?"

Huh? How should I answer this question? she wondered. If they had feelings for each other, she would definitely be unhappy and even mad, but if there were no feelings, it didn't matter. At the most, they could divorce.

"Answer me!"

"Master Dylan, the cutleries are here."

Dylan gestured to the bodyguard to set the new set of cutleries in front of Kendall.

"Since you're here to apologize, have a meal with me," he said, placing food onto her plate, all the while saying how nutritious it was and the benefits of the food as though he was a nutritionist.

Dismayed, she uttered, "I can't eat spicy food."

He gave her the evil eye, which sent a shudder through her heart, and she quickly grabbed the fork. "I-I eat spicy food. As long as you're eating with me, I'll take any kind of spicy food."

Then, she popped the food covered in chili oil into her mouth, and the spiciness spread out in her mouth, so spicy that she wanted to spit it out. But when she saw Dylan watching her emotionlessly, she didn't dare to do so and forced herself to swallow it.

It's spicy! I want some water!

He read her like a book as he passed her a bowl of clear soup, but there was also chili oil in it, and there was more of it in the soup compared to other dishes.

She didn't dare to drink it, but he pushed the soup in front of her.

"Have some soup, eat some food, finish everything, and get lost!"

Speechlessly, Kendall did as told, and one hour later, she asked in embarrassment with a mix of impatience, "Dylan, where's the bathroom?"

Dylan then picked up the napkin and wiped his mouth gracefully after placing down his cutlery elegantly. As for Kendall's question, he pretended not to hear it, which made her so nervous that she was about to start begging him.

As her husband threatened her, she had to finish the food, but she ended up running to the bathroom continuously a few times.

Finally, Dylan realized the severity of the situation. So, when she was about to run to the bathroom again while holding her belly after she had just returned from a bathroom trip, he asked her with a long face, "Did you take laxatives?"

 

Chapter 9

"Dylan, you checked up on me and found out that I don't eat spicy food, but do you know why? That's because every time I do, I'll have to set up a camp in the bathroom," Kendall said and rushed toward the bathroom.

It seemed that he had gone overboard with the prank he pulled on his new wife. Finally, after being silent for a couple of minutes, he instructed solemnly, "Call Dr. Gill."

"Okay." Immediately, the bodyguard took out his cell phone and called the house doctor of the Coleman Family.

By the time Dr. Gill arrived, Kendall was already lifeless from the bathroom trips. He gave her a prescription, and after she took the medication, she made a couple more trips to the bathroom before diarrhea stopped completely.

The food on the stone table in the pavilion had been cleared away. In its place were some fruits and snacks.

When Dylan noticed that Kendall sprawled over the table as though she would pass out any second, he was quiet for a while before asking, "Should I ask someone to carry you out?"

She lifted her head, moved her lips in response, and said something, but he heard nothing.

"Place me on the stool," Dylan ordered.

Two bodyguards came forward and held him up from his sides before placing him on the stool carefully.

"Push her out with my wheelchair."

Silently, the bodyguards did as he told them. Outside, Kelly, who was thrown out by the bodyguards, had been waiting at Coleman Residence for more than two hours. It was already dark when she saw the bodyguards coming out with a wheelchair, and the person sitting in it turned out to be Kendall.

The fact that she was thrown out while Kendall remained inside for more than two hours had her hopping mad, but now, she was so gleeful because Kendall ended up worse than her.

Dylan Coleman is really the devil himself, showing no consideration for a lady at all! she gloated silently.

"Kendall." Even though she was gloating on the inside, she had to appear concerned and worried on the outside. "Oh Kendall, what happened to you?"

After two bodyguards rolled Kendall out, they gestured to Kelly to help her up. Then, they left with the wheelchair without a single word, and the main doors of the Coleman Residence closed.

"Spicy and ruthless," she muttered.

The rumors were true—Dylan Coleman was not a kind person!

"We shouldn't have trifled with Master Dylan to begin with, and you actually have the nerves to walk

into the pavilion without his permission. Didn't you notice that he was having his meal outside? Besides his personal bodyguards, nobody can get close to him, and neither do they dare to. His temper is especially foul and unpredictable as well. I heard that the servants in the Coleman household are all afraid to serve him, and even his family try to avoid him whenever they can."

On the other hand, Kendall said nothing to her. In fact, she didn't know Dylan, but she was grateful to him because he had shown her a little kindness in her past life. So, she was willing to marry him after coming back.

However, since she had already ridden on his coattails and married him, she had already decided to stay by his side for the rest of her life.

"Let's go home. I'm tired."

Therefore, Kendall was unwilling to speak on the matter anymore as she just wanted to go home and sleep soundly, and Kelly didn't ask anymore when she saw how much she was suffering from Dylan's treatment. After she helped her into the car, she then brought her home.

Someone knocked on her door, and Charlotte's voice echoed, "Kendall, it's me. May I come in?"

She stuffed her phone into her trousers pocket and answered immediately, "The door's not locked, Mom. Come on in."

Then, Charlotte pushed the door open and came in, pacing toward her and saying, "Kendall, it's cloudy today, so it's neither too sunny nor too hot. Kelly had arranged for her secretary to come over and accompany you to go shopping. You can pick a few evening gowns from L.E. Boutique and attend the party this Saturday."

"What party, Mom?" Kendall asked casually.

"The birthday party of the young mistress of the Zorn family. Haven't you already been informed about it before?"

Kendall could remember now, and this event also happened in her past life.

The Zorn Family's status in Orapolis was second to that of the Coleman Family, and Yasmin Zorn was the only young mistress of her generation. Kendall was about to turn her down when she suddenly recalled that she had tattered one of Dylan's shirts. So, by right, she had to compensate him with a new one.

Hence, she quickly changed her mind and put on a sweet smile. "I'll listen to you, Mom."

Charlotte gently ran her fingers through Kendall's waist-length hair and said affectionately, "My daughter has to be dolled up and pretty."

"Mom, am I not pretty if I'm not dolled up?" she asked in a spoiled tone.

"Of course you are. Even without makeup, my daughter is the prettiest one in the room."

"That's because you and Dad have good genes, and I'm only growing from the best genes."

Charlotte tapped her forehead lightly and said dotingly, "Such a sweet talker. Have you eaten all the sugar today?."

Playfully, Kendall stuck out her tongue, which made Charlotte love her even more. So, she whisked out a credit card and pushed it into Kendall's palm. "This is your pocket money from me. Just buy anything you like and don't worry about saving money for me. Go now, don't keep Miss Sanders waiting for too long."

After Charlotte's urging, Kendall changed and put on heels. Then, she carried the Hermes handbag Charlotte gave her as a present on her arm as she followed Kelly's secretary, Cameron Sanders, out the door.

The wealthy people of Orapolis loved shopping at Wealthy Luck Street the most, and any store there was a specialty store of some branded name.

Thus, when they stopped the car at the entrance of the bustling street, Cameron said to her, "Miss Kendall, go and shop first while I look for a parking spot. I'll come and look for you in a while."

"Okay," Kendall answered, getting out of the car.

Ever since she returned to the Parker Family, she had been here countless times and knew which ones were men's boutiques. So, after hopping off, she went directly to the franchise of a particular brand. She had just reached the entrance of that store when she bumped into Jackson, who was just coming

out.

Both of them stopped in their tracks as their eyes met.

Chapter 10

The sight of Jackson reminded Kendall of her past life, and the hatred within her bubbled up and was almost shown through her angered gaze.

She even had the urge to lunge forward, choke his throat and ask him why he married her even though he didn't love her. If it wasn't him that night, why did he pretend to be that man, fool her, and even cause her daughter's death?

"Kendall."

Jackson took a few steps forward and stood in front of her with confusion in his eyes. Previously, Kendall's eyes would light up whenever she saw him, but it was a little different this time.

"Kendall, why are you here? Are you alone?" he asked and even took a look around.

Kendall suppressed the hatred within herself with all her might. However, when she saw how he was looking around, she knew that he was actually searching for Kelly.

A mocking smile appeared on her face as she asked herself, He loves Kelly so much but pretended to be so interested in me instead. Isn't he tired from all this acting?

She must have been as blind as a mole not to notice this in her past life.

"I'm here to shop, of course," she said indifferently and walked past him.

"Kelly." Suddenly, he turned around and grabbed her hand.

However, she jerked her hand away immediately and growled, "It hurts!"

He had coincidentally grabbed her injured hand. Even though it had recovered over the past few days, the cut still hurt upon touch.

Taken aback, Jackson then saw the wound on her wrist, and he quickly held her hand again. HE also ignored her struggles to get away from him as he asked with a heartbroken face, "Kendall, what happened? Who did this?"

She glanced at him before giving him a mirthless smile as she asked instead, "Jackson, didn't you say that you like me? Why didn't you know that I was injured? You didn't even visit me once at my place for the past few days."

Anxiety flashed across his eyes, but he recovered within a split second as he lied, "I've been very busy recently, so I couldn't visit you. So, how did you get hurt? It looks like a knife cut to me."

"Can you let me go now that you've taken a look at it?"

Furrowing his brows, he observed her steadily. Kelly had complained to him that Kendall had changed; she would act spoiled to their parents and even set her up, but he didn't believe it. How was a village girl like Kendall able to set up Kelly?

But now, he was starting to believe her words because he could see that Kendall was really changing.

The way she looked at him lost the passion she used to have, and it was as if she wasn't the one who fell in love at first sight with him and stubbornly stopped him from asking for his number.

"It is a knife cut." Then, she drew back her hand and said dispassionately, "It was a cut from the knife Kelly gave me."

When she returned to the Parker Family, there was a small dagger amongst the gifts Kelly gave her, saying that it was for her to bring around as a self-defense weapon. But, thinking in retrospect, she realized that that woman had begun drawing her into her trap step by step from the moment she returned, and that was how she ended up with nothing in the end and even died in the streets.

"Kelly gave it to you for self-defense. Why did you hurt yourself with it? It's already scabbing, so it will heal quickly now." At the mention of Kelly, the look in Jackson's eyes softened, and even his tone turned gentle without him noticing.

The anxiety and sorry voice from earlier was all but gone, and the more calmly Kendall watched him, the more she hated herself for being so blind in her past life.

He also immediately changed the subject, swiveled to look at the store behind himself, and asked, "Kendall, you mentioned that you're here for shopping, and this is a men's boutique. Are you shopping for your father?"

"I think it's unrelated to you whom I'm shopping for. No matter what, it's not for you."

Her retort made him speechless as he loved the clothes from this brand, and she was always buying them as gifts for him. Every time she was here because she was shopping for him, but now, she said that she wasn't buying him anything!

So, who's she buying for? he wondered curiously, feeling very uneasy at the same time. Regardless, it

was a very odd feeling.

He was used to Kendall treating him as a treasure in her hands, going along with his every wish and thinking of ways and means to buy him the things that he liked without even needing to mention it.

Suddenly, her attitude toward him had turned stone cold, and even when she went shopping, the clothes were not for him, making him feel like he had lost something.

"I'm very familiar with this brand. Come on. I'll be your guide," he said and wanted to pull her into the store.

However, she avoided his hand, raised her head high while he watched, and strode to the entrance gracefully in her heels. Then, she pushed the door open and went in.

"Stop the car," Dylan suddenly barked.

Instantly, the driver hit the brakes and quickly stopped the car at the side of the road.

Dylan pushed a button to roll down the window and fixed his aloof gaze on the figure in the distance that had walked into a store. Right behind her, the person who went after her was Jackson Whittle.

"Stop the car on the opposite street," he instructed coldly.

Hurriedly, the driver did as told, and a few minutes later, Dylan's designated car team stopped at the entrance of Wealthy Luck Street.

"I want to go shopping," he snarled.

Immediately, his bodyguard team started to get into action. Some hopped out of the car quickly and scanned around warily. Then, after making sure that nobody was suspicious in the vicinity, others swiftly lifted Dylan's regular wheelchair out of the car while others helped him carefully.

Dividing the work amongst themselves and working in coordination, they worked so swiftly that a bodyguard was already pushing Dylan into Wealthy Luck Street in just a few seconds.

Master Dylan was here!

The merchants of Wealthy Luck Street were all intelligent. Even if they had never seen him in person, they had seen pictures of him in the newspaper. Furthermore, he was the only one who would make such a grand entrance wherever he went.

"Hello, Master Dylan."

"How are you, Master Dylan?"

All the shop managers who heard and found out that he was here rushed out and greeted him with all smiles. It didn't matter if he didn't know them because all that mattered was that he knew that they were very respectful toward him.

Unaware that Dylan was on the same street, Kendall started picking out clothes for him after walking into the store. Meanwhile, Jackson was next to her, butting in a comment occasionally.

When Dylan came in, he saw her picking up a shirt, and she probably wanted to try it on someone, so Jackson quickly stepped forward, and Dylan's face fell.

Although it was a flash marriage between them, and there wasn't any foundation built on feelings for each other, she should be faithful now that they were married and not act so intimately with another man.

In addition, she was even buying clothes for another man!

Fortunately, she didn't let Jackson try on the shirt she had picked.

"Welcome, Master Dylan."
