I threw the file bag I was holding across the table arrogantly.
The bag whirled and slid toward Mia like it was figuring out where to go.
After stiffening briefly, Mia cooly raised her palm and caught the bag that had slid in front of her with a “smack.”
She stared at my face and didn’t say a word. Instead, she kept staring at my face as if she was trying to guess what might be inside.
I shrugged at her and gestured to indicate that she could open it herself.
While staring intently at my face, she slowly picked up the file bag, unzipped it, and pulled out the documents inside.
