“Vincent, remember your sword,” Dustin said quietly. “Your blade exists to protect—your sister, your people. That belief is stronger than any power.”

Vincent froze.

He closed his eyes. In his mind, he saw his sister’s smile… the faces of the Bellemare family… and the comrades who had fought beside him through life and death.

When he opened his eyes again, they were clear.

The crushing pressure around him seemed to ease.

“Thank you, Mr. Rhys,” Vincent said softly, straightening his back as he continued upward.
