Chapter 921 Relentless Woman
Eunice didn’t even look surprised, as if she had already known that Nicholas was married. His expression darkened in an instant.
“Come with me.” With that, he pulled Eunice to the side.
Seeing that, Addison smiled apologetically at Nicholas. “Don’t mind them, President Sawyer. They’re always like that.”
Nicholas slightly lowered his gaze, not answering. Addison smiled awkwardly, then hastily changed the subject, continuing the conversation that was interrupted before. “President Sawyer, what are the requirements for the project you mentioned earlier?”
“There are quite a few of them, actually.”
At the mention of business, Nicholas began discussing the matter earnestly. Edward also cooperated from the side.
Meanwhile, Walter pulled Eunice to a quiet spot before letting her go and questioning her, “What exactly is going on here?”
“What is going on where?”
Eunice knew what her father wanted to ask about, but she feigned ignorance.
Walter knew what his daughter was thinking, so he said in all seriousness, “Quit pretending. I’m asking you if you know that Nicholas is already married?”
“Yes, I did.”
“And you still told me you’re eyeing him?!”
Walter instantly glared at Eunice in a fury, warning her, “I don’t care how you used to fool around, but you’d better steer clear of married men, especially Nicholas! Don’t you dare mess with him!”
“What’s wrong with that? It’s just some harmless play, so you don’t have to be so serious.” Eunice pouted playfully, not taking her father’s words seriously.
Hearing his daughter’s tone, Walter frowned in extreme disdain. “Harmless play? Don’t you care about your reputation anymore?” Oh, Eunice! I can’t take this anymore! You better behave this time!
However, Eunice didn’t even listen as she waved her hand in annoyance. “Enough, Daddy, you’ve said all those things before. I know when to stop, so stop minding my business.”
Walter glared at Eunice, not knowing what to say for a moment.
In the end, he still couldn’t do anything about Eunice, so he gave up on reprimanding her. He gave her a few customary warnings before leaving.
After all, his daughter had always been fooling around, but she hadn’t run into serious trouble before. Hence, for the rest of the party, Eunice tried every way she could think of to get closer to Nicholas.
Nicholas didn’t want to cause a ruckus, so he took Edward with him as he tried his best to avoid her.
No matter what, Eunice was Tessa’s senior, and he didn’t want to cause Tessa any trouble. Despite that, Eunice still kept going to him.
“Mr. Sawyer, why would you avoid me to this extent? We do know each other, but you’re being too cruel by doing this.”
As she spoke, she struck as many seductive poses as possible, attracting the gazes of many men around her. Sensing those gazes, she thought she was extremely attractive at that moment, so she kept giving Nicholas alluring looks.
Unbeknownst to her, Nicholas was disgusted with her at that point. Standing at the side, Edward had no words to describe his emotions then because this was his first time seeing such a relentless woman.
While he was deep in thought, he heard his president’s extremely cold voice speaking.
“Let’s go, Edward.”
Nicholas didn’t want to see Eunice at all.
Eunice, on the other hand, was stunned as she watched the man leave so decisively.
He’s leaving just like that? She instantly dropped her seductive act and frowned deeply. The other men around her were clearly swooning over her, so logically speaking, this man shouldn’t behave like this.
Suddenly, she seemed to have thought of something, and her frown disappeared at once. She felt that Nicholas must be giving her the cold shoulder on purpose.
After all, people from Xerthania were known to be a little more reserved. At that thought, she looked in the direction Nicholas left, a confident look in her eyes. “No matter what, I’ll have you submit to me tonight.”
With that, she pursued Nicholas’ footsteps once again and came to the balcony.
“Mr. Sawyer, how can you leave me alone just like that? This is unbecoming of a gentleman.”
Eunice smiled as she neared Nicholas. Without even waiting for him to reply, she reached out and placed her fingertip nonchalantly on Nicholas’ shirt right above his chest, tracing circles on it.
Chapter 922 I Don’t Like Prostitutes
Smelling the pungent perfume in the air, Nicholas instantly turned grim, and he was obviously infuriated by Eunice. He stood upright without moving and was radiating hostility at the same time, which could be too overwhelming for others to the point that it made people feel suffocated. However, the tactless Eunice was unaware of it and continued to tempt him.
“Mr. Sawyer, you’re not at Xerthania, so you don’t have to be this uptight. Let’s have some fun. Having fun is the most important thing, isn’t it?” She then raised her gaze and looked at Nicholas with infatuation and continued to tempt him. “Of course, you don’t have to worry that Tessa would find out about it as long as both of us keep our mouths shut. That way, you’ll still be her loyal husband when you get home.”
Hearing that, Nicholas glared at her with a scowl on his face. Edward, who was standing next to him, got the chills and could feel his temple twitch. At that moment, he really hoped that he could grow wings on his back and fly away from the danger zone that he was in, as Nicholas could be terrifying when he got angry…
He glanced over at the enraged Nicholas as he took a few steps back. “Would this do? I should be safe if I stand here,” he mumbled as he evaluated the distance between himself and Nicholas before finally stopping his footsteps when he felt that he was a safe distance away from Nicholas. After standing still, he turned his attention back to Nicholas and Eunice.
Meanwhile, Nicholas had distanced himself from Eunice, and following that, he took a handkerchief out of his pocket and started examining his shirt before wiping something filthy off it.
He wasn’t sure whether it was just all in his head, but he felt that he couldn’t get rid of Eunice’s disgusting scent no matter how he wiped his shirt. In the end, he rather gave up on saving the coat and threw it along with the handkerchief into the trash can. It was apparent that he was disgusted by her.
Seeing that made Eunice mad, as his actions were a slap in her face. At that same time, her desire to conquer him had become stronger. She vowed to take down this man and make sure that he was captivated by her in order to redeem herself after being shamed by him earlier on!
“Mr. Sawyer, you’re killing the fun by just holding it out.” She suppressed her anger and looked at Nicholas with a smile before adding, “We are both adults, aren’t we?”
Upon hearing that, he glared at her as he could tell what her intentions were. “Firstly, I respected and tolerated you because you are my wife’s senior. However, you’ve crossed the line, which is why I should make things clear with you,” he said before pausing briefly, and he couldn’t hide his disgust toward her. “I don’t like prostitutes, so it wouldn’t work even if you tried to seduce me. I hope that you can have more self-respect and not embarrass yourself in front of me.”
His words startled Eunice because she hadn’t been scolded right in her face before, and it took her a while to make sense of the situation. “Who is the prostitute that you’re referring to?” she snapped at him.
Although Nicholas didn’t answer her, she could tell who he was referring to from his expression.
She was exasperated after she understood what he meant and growled, “You should be honored that I fancy you. Who are you to look down on me and insult me like that?”
Nicholas had had enough after hearing what she said while he had a glowering look on his face. Even though Edward was standing far away from him, he could feel Nicholas’ wrath which made him tremble. Edward hadn’t seen him get that furious in a long time. He was impressed at how clueless Eunice was about Nicholas’ feelings and kept provoking Nicholas.
Edward just wished that Nicholas would lash out his anger at her so that he could calm down and not implicate others in the process. Of course, Eunice didn’t know about Edward’s thoughts, but she was unfazed by how furious Nicholas seemed, as she was infuriated after being insulted by him.
Chapter 923 Unworthy of Being Compared to My Wife
Eunice lifted her chin and looked at Nicholas proudly as she uttered sarcastically, “Don’t think that I’m not aware that you’d marry a woman like Tessa because she was pregnant with your child. I’ve heard that both of you got married because of that.” As she spoke, she purposely paused while straightening her back and putting on a coquettish pose.
Nicholas’ gaze got even colder as he looked at her.
However, the oblivious Eunice hadn’t noticed the change in his expression and posed seductively as she bragged, “Look at me, I’m obviously sexier than Tessa, and I have a higher status than her. Are you blind for not being able to see it?”
Seeing how shameless she was made him chuckle. “Stop being presumptuous if you don’t know anything. You’re just embarrassing yourself for doing so.” He smirked and added sarcastically, “Besides, I don’t think that she’s any worse than you, as you’re unworthy of being compared with her.” He praised Tessa, and at the same time, belittled Eunice. “You thought that you’re so desirable, but you’re just a plaything for other men. Someone like you is unworthy of being compared to my wife.”
Upon hearing his unceremonious humiliation, she was so exasperated that her beautiful face contorted with anger. Left tongue-tied, she clenched her fists as her blood boiled.
Nicholas pretended not to notice the anger on her face and continued to speak viciously, “To tell you the truth, if it wasn’t because you are my wife’s senior, I would normally just ignore women like you.”
“You’re lying!” Eunice couldn’t accept his criticism. Since being charming was one of the traits that she was most proud of, she couldn’t believe that it was worthless to Nicholas. “Mr. Sawyer, don’t be so sure about that. You’re saying that because you’ve not slept with me before. It would be a different story if you did that.” She stared at him blankly.
Under the moonlight, Nicholas stood tall and straight while his white shirt buttons were meticulously fastened, which made him look abstinent. On top of that, his handsome facial features made him look like a nobleman from the Middle Ages. However, he couldn’t hide the disgust on his face as he uttered, “I’ve mentioned that I don’t like prostitutes.” After he finished speaking, he turned around and left as he had said everything he wanted to say, and he couldn’t stand the sight of her anymore.
On the other hand, Eunice was exasperated and felt humiliated for being described as a prostitute twice. “You can’t leave!” She dashed in front of him and stopped him from leaving.
Nicholas’ expression darkened, and his patience was exhausted, but Eunice still didn’t notice it. All she could think of was to throw herself at him and make him sleep with her. She was adamant about conquering him and made sure that he ate his words after making numerous humiliating remarks at her.
“Mr. Sawyer, please believe me that as long as you sleep with me, the pleasure that you’ll get will be significantly more than what Tessa could offer.” With that, she walked toward him and stopped in front of him. Following that, she stood on tiptoe and was about to hug him and give him a kiss.
Seeing that made Edward wide-eyed. He felt that Eunice was playing with fire by trying to force it upon Nicholas. He then shifted his gaze to Nicholas and noticed his terrifyingly grave expression.
Meanwhile, Nicholas frowned as he saw her leaning in and was able to swiftly avoid her embrace. She was stunned and didn’t expect that he would be able to avoid her when they were standing that close to each other. However, before she could react to that, she suddenly lost her balance which made her panic.
“Help…” She instinctively cried for help and waved her arms as she tried to grab onto something. However, there wasn’t anything around her that she could grab onto to stop her from falling. As to Nicholas, he was standing still as he glanced at her coldly and had no intention of giving her a hand.
Chapter 924 Fell Into the Swimming Pool
Eunice couldn’t count on Edward to save her as well, as he purposely looked down to avoid looking at her. The next moment, a big splash was heard as she fell into the swimming pool on the balcony.
Although it was already spring, the weather was still rather cold, not to mention how cold the water in the pool would be. Nicholas merely stood still and looked at her coldly while Eunice was startled by how cold the water was.
Meanwhile, the people at the venue came running over after hearing the commotion. Noticing that, Eunice, who was planning to get out of the water, had second thoughts. Although she didn’t pay that much attention to her image when she was having fun, she couldn’t bring herself to come out of the pool all wet and half-naked, since it would make her feel ashamed.
Just then, a few men felt bad for her and offered to help when they saw how pale she was as half of her body was submerged in the pool.
“Miss Eunice, hold on to my hand, and I’ll pull you up.”
“Miss Eunice, you can put on my coat before you come out of the pool.” The man removed his coat and offered it to her as he spoke.
However, Eunice ignored all of them while she stared at Nicholas. It was obvious that she wanted him to pull her up, as she didn’t believe that he would be that cold-hearted and not help her out in front of that many people.
In fact, the cold Nicholas had no intention of helping her out, and Eunice’s expression turned grave after the cold hard truth dawned upon her. The crowd seemed to have guessed what was going on after observing both of their expressions.
Some women couldn’t bear seeing those men’s actions, so they started making sarcastic remarks. “Can’t you tell that she didn’t want your help at all? Don’t you feel embarrassed for approaching her and offering to help her when she doesn’t appreciate it?” Upon hearing those remarks, the men who offered to help felt embarrassed. Fortunately, Walter and Addison had rushed over in time after hearing news about it.
“What happened?” Walter was heartbroken when he saw her precious daughter shivering in the cold swimming pool. While he was asking someone to get a towel over, he gazed at Nicholas and questioned him since Eunice had been following behind him since the party started.
“Mr. Sawyer, could you explain the situation?”
Hearing that, Nicholas looked at him coldly and explained impassively, “Earlier on, Miss Eunice accidentally twisted her ankle, and I didn’t manage to hold on to her in time.” In other words, he implied it had nothing to do with him.
After observing Nicholas’ expression, Walter felt that he didn’t seem like he was lying and believed his words. Just then, a waitress came with a blanket, and Walter immediately got someone to pull Eunice out of the pool. After Eunice got out, she seemed sullen and glared at Nicholas as if she was mad at him for saying that he had nothing to do with her falling into the pool.
Noticing her glare, he wasn’t bothered by it and responded, “Miss Eunice, you should go change into something dry so that you wouldn’t catch a cold since it’s cold out here.”
Eunice was trembling with anger when she saw how calm he was since no one had treated her like dirt before. As she was about to say something, Walter spoke before she could. “President Sawyer, you’re right. I’ll bring her to change into something dry.”
Right after, Walter left with the frustrated Eunice. Before she left, she glared at him displeasedly but looked away with indifference when she noticed that he wasn’t looking at her. The crowd dispersed soon after.
Addison excused himself and returned to the party, as he had to attend to the other guests. Soon, only Nicholas and Edward were left on the balcony. Nicholas then waved his hand, signaling Edward to go over to him.
Seeing that, Edward went up to him and asked respectfully, “Yes, President Sawyer?”
“Let’s go back.”
Hearing that, Edward nodded, and both of them walked out of the club after a few minutes. Edward drove them back, and it wasn’t too late at night when Nicholas reached home. Upon entering the living room, he looked around the quiet room and asked Sebastian, “Where’s Tessa and Gregory?”
Chapter 925 How Was the Party?
“She’s coaxing the young master to sleep upstairs,” Sebastian replied dutifully. Hearing that, Nicholas nodded and headed upstairs to Gregory’s room. Upon entering the room and seeing the scene in front of him, the grim expression on his face disappeared, and a warm smile followed. The room was dimly lit by a warm-toned bedside lamp, and Tessa was seen hugging Gregory as both of them were sound asleep.
Seeing that, Nicholas smiled and slowly walked over before sitting by the bed. He stared at Tessa’s sweet sleeping face quietly, and the irritability that he had had was instantly relieved. He couldn’t help but lean in for a kiss.
Although it was just a peck, Tessa was awakened by the warm sensation on her forehead. She stared at him blankly while in a daze, and soon after she was fully awake, she beamed when she recognized that it was Nicholas. “You’re back.” She whispered to him in order to not wake Gregory up before carefully moving Gregory away from her arms.
Seeing that, Nicholas went up to help her out. However, Gregory seemed to be awakened by it, as he suddenly grabbed onto Tessa’s shirt and called out, “Mommy…” Tessa’s heart melted when she heard his adorable voice, and she was reluctant to leave him.
“Why not?”
“No way.” Nicholas rejected her even before she could finish what she wanted to say since he already knew what she wanted to say because he refused to sleep alone. With that, he skilfully made Gregory release his grip on Tessa’s shirt.
“Alright, we can go back to our room now.” He held onto her hand, and both of them left Gregory’s room. Tessa followed behind him helplessly, but his actions made her heart warm.
After entering the room, Tessa remembered that Nicholas had attended a party that night and asked him concernedly, “Have you had a lot to drink? Should I go to the kitchen and pour you a glass of warm water ?”
“There’s no need for that, as I didn’t drink much. Edward had been drinking on my behalf.”
Nicholas pulled Tessa over, and both of them sat on the bed. Tessa didn’t seem to believe his words and leaned in to take a sniff at him. She felt relieved when she found out that he didn’t reek of alcohol.
“Since you don’t need it, you should go wash up, as it’s already late.”
“Alright.”
With that, Nicholas went into the bathroom. Later on, he got out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist. His firm and attractive abs looked alluring under the lighting, but it was a shame that Tessa had been asleep to see them. It was either because she had been too tired or because she was pregnant that she had fallen asleep as soon as she lay on the bed.
After he wiped himself dry, he slowly got into bed and pulled her into his arms. Although Tessa was asleep, it was as if she could feel it too and snuggled in his arms. She rubbed her cheek against his chest and murmured in a daze, “Nicholas, go to sleep.”
Upon hearing that, he smiled as his heart melted. He tightened his embrace and kissed her in between her brows.
“Good night,” he whispered and closed his eyes with her in his arms. He felt peace. Although there were many beautiful women in the world, the only one that he wanted to be with was sleeping in his arms.
The next morning, Tessa woke up early, but Nicholas was still asleep, which was rare. She couldn’t pull her gaze away from him as she stared at the flawless-looking man who was sound asleep. Soon after, Nicholas woke up.
“Do I look good?” He pulled her into his arms and smiled.
Tessa felt shy as it felt like she was caught in the act but smiled sweetly as she replied. “There’s no question that my husband looks good.” She was all smiles as she looked at him.
Nicholas seemed to be infected by her smile and couldn’t help but smile at her too. After cuddling for a while, Tessa suddenly asked with a laugh, “Since it was already late last night, I have forgotten to ask you about the party. How was it?”
Chapter 926 Stay On Your Toes
“It was alright since most of those occasions felt the same to me. It was rather boring,” Nicholas replied impassively. Even so, Tessa could feel that something was off. “Did something happen?” she asked concernedly.
After giving it some thought, Nicholas decided not to hide it from her and revealed to her about everything that Eunice had done. The revelation had left Tessa flabbergasted, especially that part when Nicholas purposely planned to make Tessa fall into the pool. However, she thought that Eunice had brought it upon herself.
“I never thought that Eunice is someone that shameless.” She frowned displeasedly.
Seeing her angry made him laugh. “Alright, let’s not get angry over people like her.” He then hugged Tessa in her arms as he explained to her. “The reason why I’m telling you this is because I hope that you will remain alert toward the people around you. Since I won’t be staying over here for long, I won’t be able to turn up on time to protect you every time you’re in danger.”
“Okay, got it. I will be more careful in the future.” She nodded slightly.
After both of them chatted for a while, they got down from the bed and went to wash up, as it was about time that Tessa headed out for her orchestra training. Soon, the whole family sat down together to have breakfast, and right after that. Tessa brought Gregory to the orchestra.
She never thought that she would bump into Eunice upon entering the orchestra. Perhaps it was because Eunice had fallen into the water last night; she looked a little haggard today.
Noticing that, a lot of the orchestra members went up to her and asked her concernedly, “Miss Eunice, are you not feeling well? Why does your face look so pale?”
“Miss Eunice, why not take a day off today since your health should come first.”
“Miss Eunice, do you need to go to the hospital? I can send you there in my car.”
Eunice smiled when she saw how everyone was concerned about her. “Thank you all for your concern. I’m fine, so all of you should go attend your training.”
Hearing that, all of them left for their training obediently. Tessa narrowed her gaze when she saw that Eunice was about to leave.
Suddenly, she lowered her gaze to look at Gregory and told him, “Go wait for Mommy in the training room. Mommy has something to discuss with Miss Eunice.” She didn’t want Gregory to be there as she didn’t want to taint her child’s pure heart. However, her intention was unknown to Gregory, and he nodded before leaving. When Tessa saw that Gegot had disappeared into the corridor, she sighed and went after Eunice.
“Eunice, hold on.”
“Tessa, what is it?” Eunice’s eyes lit up when she noticed Tessa coming over. Eunice seemed interested to know what Tessa was going to ask her and, at the same time, had her guard up against Tessa.
Tessa ignored Eunice’s expression and pretended to be concerned. “Eunice, I heard that you fell into the pool last night. Are you alright?”
Hearing that made Eunice’s expression grim. She narrowed her gaze when she stared at Tessa as she wasn’t sure whether Tessa was concerned about her or it was something else.
Tessa had naturally noticed her curious gaze, but she pretended to act dumb, “Eunice, why are you staring at me?”
“Nothing. I just think that you looked good today.” Eunice looked away as she answered simply.
“Eunice, you don’t seem good. Did you catch a cold or something? Do you need me to send you to the hospital?” Tessa nodded and asked again.
Eunice’s eyes lit up when she saw how earnest Tessa was. She thought that she herself might have been too sensitive about it as Tessa seemed to be genuinely concerned about her and didn’t have any ill intentions. However, she felt that Tessa’s reaction was rather odd.
If Tessa knew that she had fallen into the pool, why would Tessa speak to her politely? Could it be that Nicholas didn’t tell her about what happened last night?
Given the situation, Eunice thought it was possible and instantly felt relieved. She smiled and replied to Tessa, “I have probably caught a cold and will be better after taking some medication. Thank you for your concern.”
Chapter 927 Things That Don’t Belong to You
Who the heck is concerned about you?! Tessa felt disgusted when she saw Eunice smile. It was apparent that Eunice was so used to putting on a facade that she could pretend nothing happened after doing something that shameless. Tessa felt that she shouldn’t be underestimating Eunice.
Tessa’s gaze darkened at the thought of it. However, she maintained her smile and nodded. “It’s great that you’re fine. You should be more careful in future since the weather is getting cold. We wouldn’t want you to fall sick, after all.”
Hearing that, Eunice smiled and nodded, but she didn’t notice how cold Tessa’s gaze was. In fact, Eunice actually felt good about herself and thought that Tessa was an idiot. Little did she know that Tessa was observing her expressions and even managed to read them. Tessa smirked when she realized how shameless Eunice actually was. At the same time, she didn’t understand why Eunice would be proud of herself for things like that.
After giving it some thought, she uttered sarcastically, “Speaking of it, you fell into the pool because you were the one who brought it upon yourself. After all, it’s not a good habit to covet other people’s belongings, don’t you think so?” She glanced straight at Eunice and warned her, “Eunice, don’t even think about getting your hands on things that don’t belong to you as it might backfire.” After saying what she wanted to say, Tessa left without looking back.
Eunice froze on the spot as she was exasperated after being toyed.
Tessa had obviously found out about it and was just there to mock her. “You b*tch!” Eunice cursed as her blood boiled.
Eunice was especially mad when she recalled how proud she was of herself and thought that Tessa was just an idiot for not knowing what she had done. However, Tessa had known about it all along and was just there to mock her. The thought of it infuriated her. She clenched her fists so tightly that her fingernails sunk into her palms, but she didn’t feel the pain at all.
It just so happened that Susan walked past and witnessed everything. In fact, she was glad about it. She was hoping that both of them would fight and go against each other. That way, she would have the opportunity to shine.
On her way back to the training room, Tessa seemed unhappy as Eunice had gotten on her nerves. She was mad at her for being shameless, trying to seduce her husband, and even viewing her as an idiot.
She had confronted Eunice earlier on with the intention of warning her and also to remind her that Nicholas was her man. She wanted to let her know that she shouldn’t mess with her, her family, and her husband. Eunice would be asking for trouble by doing so.
Meanwhile, Gregory noticed that Tessa seemed unhappy when she got to the training room. He immediately went up to her and asked concernedly, “Mommy, did something happen? Why do you look so unhappy?”
Hearing that, she snapped out of her thoughts and immediately suppressed her emotions when she saw how concerned he was. “Don’t worry, Mommy is fine.”
“Are you really fine?” he asked skeptically.
“Yes, I’m fine. You should go and practice the violin.”
Since Gregory was still a child, he couldn’t tell that Tessa was putting on a pretense. Thus, he really thought that Tessa was feeling fine and nodded before resuming his practice. Seeing that, Tessa started putting away her thoughts and resumed training intensively as she shouldn’t let someone like Eunice affect herself and her performance.
Everyone from the orchestra had been busy practicing the whole morning. After Sofia made her rounds, she headed straight to Tessa’s training room. During this period of time, Group Six had been successfully established, and there were many things that didn’t require her supervision anymore. With that, she could gradually put her focus back on Tessa and Gregory—especially Tessa, whom she personally trained.
“You’ve gotten it wrong. There’s a stray note because your fingers aren’t placed correctly.”
“That’s not right. Your fingers are positioned wrongly.”
“From the top. You’re still getting it wrong.”
Chapter 928 Finding Fault
During class, Sofia was strict toward Tessa. The woman had also managed to pick up a few issues that Tessa had and requested her to practice repeatedly in order to build muscle memory before they moved on.
Although Tessa received earfuls from Sofia throughout the training, she took in everything well since she knew that Sofia only wanted the best for her, which explained why the woman was so strict. Because of that, she trained extra hard without wanting to let Sofia down.
Meanwhile, Gregory was done with his daily practice and left the training room by himself as he didn’t want to disturb Tessa. He headed out and stopped by at the other orchestra members’ training room.
All of the other orchestra members were happy to see Gregory and went up to greet him. “Are you done with your practice, Greg?”
“Where are you going, Greg?”
“Don’t run around, Greg.”
All of them were fond of him, and some of them even shared their snacks with him.
At times like these, Gregory would thank them politely, “Thank you, pretty lady.”
“Oh, you’re so sweet.”
“Yes, and you’re very polite too.”
Everyone was happy to see Gregory, and all of them chatted away happily while laughing. All of a sudden, Eunice walked in. Her gaze darkened when she noticed Gregory standing among them. The sight of him reminded her of Tessa and what the woman had warned her that morning, making her blood boil.
“What’s with all the noise?” She walked over and started scolding, “This is the orchestra, which is a place for you to come to work and practice. It’s not a place for your chatter. Do you think this is a park?”
Everyone was puzzled to hear that, and all of them fell silent.
After scolding the members, she turned over and glared at Gregory before snapping at him, “And you, don’t you know that you shouldn’t be running around during practice? Don’t you know that your presence will disrupt their practice?!”
Poor Gregory trembled with fear while being scolded by Eunice. When he saw how the other orchestra members got scolded because of him, he tried to explain to her softly although he was afraid. “I just got here. Besides, the other orchestra members were having their break when I entered.”
“How dare you argue with me? Although they’re on break, your presence extended their rest time which should have ended ages ago. Do you still dare to say that you’ve not interrupted their practice?” Eunice scolded him relentlessly.
Since what she said made some sense, the usually cheeky Gregory had no grounds to refute it. He pursed his lips as he was troubled by Eunice’s remarks. Have I really disturbed the other orchestra members? he thought to himself.
No one stood up for him, and soon, Eunice started scolding him again. “Why are you quiet now? You seemed to be able to speak really well just now. I don’t know how Tessa brought you up for you to be talking back to adults at such a young age.”
Meanwhile, Tessa was standing outside when she overheard Eunice’s remarks, and her expression darkened. She was out looking for Gregory when she noticed that he wasn’t in the room after her training ended and was surprised to hear Eunice’s harsh scolding as soon as she got there.
“What’s wrong?” She walked into the training room with a grim expression and stopped next to Gregory before staring at Eunice.
Seeing that, Eunice narrowed her gaze as she was overwhelmed with wrath. She was glad that Tessa turned up there as she had been wanting to teach her a lesson after how Tessa had mocked her. While posing at her senior, she started finding fault. “Tessa, I’d like to know whether you teach your child about manners. Not only didn’t he admit to his faults, he even talked back to an adult at such a young age!”
Tessa was furious upon hearing that.
Feeling wronged, poor Gregory tried to explain, “Mommy, I didn’t do that.” He timidly pulled her sleeve while his voice quivered.
Seeing that made Tessa’s heart ache. Even when Gregory did something wrong, she never scolded him that way.
Chapter 929 Seduce Someone Else’s Husband
On top of that, Gregory had always been an obedient child who rarely caused trouble or acted impolitely. Before she could say anything, Eunice started reprimanding Gregory again, saying, “Look, he’s denying it again. How rude of him!”
Tessa glared at Eunice coldly before looking away as she wanted to find out what really happened. “Greg, don’t be scared. Can you tell Mommy what happened?” She squatted in front of Gregory and consoled him softly. Gregory felt comfort when he saw how tolerant Tessa was toward him.
“After my training ended, I noticed that Mommy and Granny Sofia were still in the middle of class, so I went out to play by myself. Since the other orchestra members were having their break, they asked me to play here as they were worried that I would wander around outside. When Miss Eunice walked in, she said that I had interrupted their training,” he explained everything that had happened.
Tessa was infuriated after listening to it as it was apparent that Eunice was merely finding fault with the boy. “Eunice, do you need to make such a big fuss about this? It was supposed to be their break time, and Gregory is just a child who happened to pass by. Do you need to relate this to his upbringing?” She stood up and told her off with a straight face.
Although Eunice was aware that she was being unreasonable, she refused to lose to Tessa given the situation. Before she could say anything, Tessa spoke before her with a sarcastic smile on her face. “Besides, are you sure that your upbringing is better than a child’s?”
For some reason, Eunice’s heart was pounding like crazy when she saw the smirk on Tessa’s face as she had a feeling that something bad was about to happen. Her hunch was proven to be right as Tessa then scoffed. “Eunice, if you really have a good upbringing, why would you try to seduce someone else’s husband?”
Everyone in the room was startled at the revelation. They had heard about Eunice’s scandal, but none of the rumors had been verified.
“Is Tessa declaring a war with Miss Eunice?”
“They are probably on bad terms since Tessa is confronting her about it.”
“I like how assertive Tessa is.”
Although those were just whispers, they were loud enough to be heard by Eunice. That moment, Eunice felt deeply humiliated as she had been exposed by Tessa.
“Tessa Reinhart!” she snapped.
“Do you have any more advice for me?” Tessa was unfazed, lifting her chest as she confronted the other woman.
Just as the atmosphere got tense, Sofia came walking in. She noticed that something was wrong and asked with a frown on her face, “What are both of you arguing about?”
“Miss Sofia.” Both Eunice and Tessa turned their gazes to Sofia and greeted her politely. Meanwhile, everyone else in the room instantly fell silent.
Gregory, who was holding onto Tessa’s hand tightly, sounded aggrieved as he greeted her, “Granny Sofia.”
Sofia knew that something was off and questioned, “What’s wrong, Greg?” Before Gregory could give her a reply, Eunice immediately explained the situation to her. Of course, she spoke so skilfully that she wouldn’t be suspected of trying to find fault.
“That’s what happened. I’m just being strict with my work, and I never expected Tessa to coddle her child while refusing to accept my criticism.”
Tessa chuckled after listening to Eunice’s accusations. From their expressions, Sofia knew that Eunice was hiding something from her.
With that, she spoke with a frown. “You’re not wrong for taking your work seriously. However, you’re making a big fuss since Gregory has always been an obedient child who doesn’t cause any problems.”
From her words, Eunice could tell that Sofia was on Gregory’s side. Although she was displeased about it, she didn’t dare be disrespectful toward Sofia.
Sofia merely dismissed her dissatisfaction and announced, “Alright, all of you should get back to what you’re doing. Stop gathering around here.”
Since Eunice couldn’t do anything about it, she left after letting out a snort.
Chapter 930 Let’s Go Visit Your Daddy
Tessa didn’t say a word although she was infuriated. She then left the training room together with Gregory and Sofia. As they walked, Sofia asked confusedly, “You seemed to get along well with Eunice before this. What happened?
“It’s nothing.” Tessa paused before answering, but she decided not to tell Sofia about it since she didn’t want to make things hard for the woman.
Just then, Gregory lowered his head like a child who did something wrong and apologized, “I shouldn’t have run around, Granny Sofia. I didn’t mean to do it.” Sofia couldn’t bring herself to blame him since he was such a sensible and well-behaved child.
She then caressed his head and consoled him, “It’s okay. Don’t take Miss Eunice’s words to heart since she was only taking her work seriously.” After that, she turned to look at Tessa and tried to act as the peacemaker. “Don’t mind what Eunice just said.” All Sofia wanted was for her students to get along well with each other since all of them were important to her; she couldn’t bear to see any of them feel wronged.
Upon hearing that, Tessa remained quiet and didn’t comment on it as she knew what Sofia’s intentions were. However, she felt that Eunice wouldn’t have just left it at that. Sofia was unaware of Tessa’s thoughts and merely informed her about something before leaving as she had other matters to take care of.
Ever since Gregory returned from the training room, he had been feeling down. Tessa noticed it and hugged him in her arms while consoling him, “Don’t let it bother you anymore since it’s all in the past.”
“But I was the one who caused Mommy to fight with her.” Gregory felt bad about it and thought that all of it wouldn’t have happened if he just stayed in the room after his training.
Little did Tessa expect Gregory to be feeling down because he was concerned about her, and she was touched by this. “I don’t blame you for it, and it’s not your fault.” She hugged him tightly while trying to comfort him.
Even so, Gregory still seemed dispirited as everyone he met had been nice to him ever since he came to Vienna. Eunice was the first one there who had scolded him.
Tessa’s heart broke for him, and because of that, she was even more furious at Eunice. However, it was more important to take care of Gregory’s feelings. She smiled as she tried to distract him. “Since it’s almost noon, would you like Mommy to bring you out for some ice cream?”
“I want to have two.” His voice sounded dull.
Tessa gladly obliged and replied, “Sure, Mommy will get two for you. One is to be eaten in the afternoon, and the other one can be eaten at night.” Gregory nodded upon hearing that, and his mood seemingly improved. Noticing that, Tessa then added, “Why don’t we go and visit Daddy after getting ice cream? We can get him to bring us to the kindergarten, and you can make a lot of friends there.”
When Gregory heard that he could make new friends, he was distracted by it and was so glad that he beamed gleefully. Tessa instantly felt relieved at the sight of that, but she was still mad about what had happened. She knew that Eunice was lashing out her anger at Gregory, and Tessa vowed that she’d never let it happen ever again.

Meanwhile, at the president’s office in one of the branches of Sawyer Group, Nicholas was surprised to see Tessa and Gregory visiting him.
“Why are both of you here?” He immediately stood up and held Tessa’s hand as he led her to the couch.
“We are here to visit you because we both miss you.” She smiled. Even so, Nicholas could tell that something was off.
“Did something happen?” He held onto her hand and asked.
“Well, something unpleasant did happen.”
Tessa didn’t hide anything from him and recounted the incident at the orchestra. After listening to her account, he frowned as he was utterly disgusted by Eunice.
