Lucas stepped out of the car, his tall figure exuding a cold aura, his sharp features looking even colder than the winter air. “You’re here so early? Aren’t you cold?” he asked as he walked up to her, reaching out and cupping her face in his hands, his palms warm against her chilled skin.

For a moment, she found herself unwilling to pull away from his warmth.

Aveline lowered her gaze slightly and replied, “I just got here too.”
